About The Lab
Who am I and why should you read my reviews?
To be honest, I’m just an average joe. I spent years working for a high tech company in the capital as a draftsman and a DTP specialist. While I enjoyed working with the group of guys on my team, I wasn’t paid very well for the work and long hours I dedicated to the job. You know how that story goes, you’ve probably been there yourself.
I wanted to change that, to find a way to work for myself. I had no idea how, and I didn’t have a lot of money to invest in trying to learn, so I turned to free resources. I read every ebook, subscribed to dozens of lists, downloaded reports, and saved up enough money to purchase my very first Internet Marketing course, Corey Rudl’s Insider Secrets.
I remember tearing apart that box and holding the binders in my hands. I thought I had just received pure gold. It couldn’t have been more shiny and valuable to me that’s for sure. So I read it all, from start to finish. Then I read it again, this time taking notes and absorbing every ounce of knowledge that poured from its pages.
Then I went back to work.
It took me quite a bit of time to do the one thing that all of us newbies have to do in order to get anywhere. We have to take action. You can be as smart as a button, know more than the “Gurus” but if you don’t put it into motion, it’s worthless. I don’t know about you but I when I first starting reading and learning, I felt my head was going to explode. I just had too much information in it, and without doing anything about it, it had no outlet, no way to be released.
I made my first few dollars by designing websites for local businesses. Back then, hardly anyone had a website and so approaching someone and offering them a way to advertise on the Internet was not only lucrative but pretty darn easy. I realized as I was designing and learning HTML that in order to make a website interactive and more dynamic I had to learn more than that, and so I began my journey into the world of programming ( a world filled with serious geeks and over-worked braincells). I was in heaven.
I made a lot of money offering freelance programming services to businesses and individuals but it wasn’t until I was given the opportunity to work with a hard-core Internet Marketer that I realized that I could do much more than just develop scripts and software for other people. These guys would take my code and make a fortune from it! Why couldn’t I just do that for myself? The hardest part was something I already knew how to do, right?
Well, sort of. Having the skills to program and to design certainly give me an edge. I can save money by doing my own websites and creating my own scripts and software. But that’s just the first step. You have to learn how to sell yourself, to advertise your business and to create compelling sales letters that reach out to people and make them want to snap out their credit card and buy from you. To someone like me who is more technical minded, that isn’t as easy as it might sound. And so I returned to where I had started, reading and reviewing current Internet Marketing reports, e-books and information that will help me fully understand the industry and how to cater to it.
In truth, Internet Marketing is such an ever evolving industry that you can’t ever stop learning. In order to stay up to date on the current trends of what works and what doesn’t, you have to dedicate yourself to constant research. People think it’s easy to advertise online, and for some people creating the product is the hardest thing to do. For me, it was the opposite.
I created this review site to showcase the products and services available to people who are just starting out online, as well as to those who just don’t want to spend another penny on a low quality product. While my reviews are just that, opinions and feedback from me, I am always completely honest and straight-forward. If I don’t like something, I am not afraid to say so. I am never paid to review a product, and I never feature products on my site as advertisements of any kind, unless I have thoroughly read them, tried them and use them myself. I am also no saint. I don’t do this simply for the joy of it, I am reviewing products for my own benefit, to find good, solid products I can promote as an affiliate. I just figure, since I am reviewing them all thoroughly for myself, why not share my findings with other people who are also looking for good stuff to promote or just want to utilize the material to take their own career to the next level.
If knowing all of that, you feel that my blog can be of use to you in your decisions than by all means, please subscribe to my email notifications list and I will alert you to every new product, website and service I review. If you would rather read fluff and filler from people paid in some way for the reviews and recommendations that they make, there are certainly plenty of other blogs that do just that.
Here, there’s no BS, no hidden agenda, and no wasted space.
Enjoy,
Jake Riley
